Tour Highlights

The Right Tour at the Right Time

Many tour operators organize trips in March, however, February is the BEST possible time to be in Serengeti, because it is peak calving season for wildebeest and zebra

Being there during February means you witness the great migration of herds that set out in the search of greener grasslands, with their young

Internal Flights to Optimize Travel

Two Internal flights (Kilimanjaro – Ndutu) (Seronera- Kilimanjaro) help us avoid tiring 9+ hour long drives through rough terrain

Our group lands right next to luxury tented accommodation so you have plenty of time to be in the wild and take photographs!

Intimate Tour Size – Small Groups

We seat a maximum of THREE photographers in each vehicle so unobstructed views are guaranteed and there is enough space to store photography equipment

Total group size is limited to 12. So book a seat before the tour fills up!

Best in Class Transport and Crew

All travel is in 4 x 4 Safari Land Cruisers with open roofs for 360 views. English speaking certified local guides will drive us through territory they know best

Luxury Tented Accommodation

Unlike other operators, we avoid crowded resorts that are far away from wildlife. Stay in luxury tents in a mobile camp located strategically close to all the action

Your comfort is our priority. Each tent has two separate, queen size beds and running hot and cold water. We also have a separate dining tent to serve up three course delicious meals

Expert guidance to improve your skills

Giri Cavale, our skipper for this tour, has led TWO photo tours to Tanzania in the past. Giri will be on hand to answer questions, offer tips, and train you on technique, on and off the field

Who is this Photo Tour for? + What can you expect to photograph during this trip?

The Lensowl Photo Tour is open to Photographers of all levels. Whether you are a beginner interested in trying your hand at wildlife and landscape photography, a serious hobbyist with a few years of experience under your belt, or almost ready to go pro- we have something for everyone!

Amateur photographers who are just embarking on their journey and wish to explore the medium and professional lensmen who want to create a portfolio of stunning work are both welcome to explore the scenic delights of the African savannah.

The Tour has been organized such that you have opportunities to photograph nature at different times of the day. We set out before breakfast early in the morning, and have the luxury of staying outdoors from dawn to dusk. Depending on the day, we may return indoors to avoid the midday sun, and return during the magical hour, once the sun has set.

You have an opportunity to witness hunts and see predators in their natural element stalk and chase.

We will be able to get incredibly close to lions, cheetah, leopards since off road driving is allowed in Ndutu.

You will also have an opportunity to see big herds in movement, as pods of hippos who share waters with crocodiles. Giraffes, elephants, rhinos, zebras and wildebeest will journey to watering holes, and forage for food, across the grassland.

Tour Itinerary
Eight days of immersive wildlife experience

  • DAY 1: 09 Feb 2018, Friday: Land in Kilimanjaro from Nairobi

We land in Kilimanjaro from Nairobi at 9:30 am and take a connecting flight to Ndutu at 10:50 am and land in Ndutu around 11:45am very close to our tented accommodation. After we Check in to our tents, freshen up and have lunch before heading out to an afternoon game drive, Ndutu is one of the few locations in the Serengeti that allows for off roading, some other parts of the national park have rules that forbid it, so we can get really close to animals in the wild – to take great pictures! We return to our tents by evening and will stay overnight at Ndutu.

  • DAY 2 to 4: 10 Feb to 12 Feb, Monday: Full day game drive; Overnight Ndutu

From Day 2- 4 we explore the savannah extensively! We have the luxury of going on dawn-dusk Safaris, to capture the landscape and animals at first light, and during the magic hour, when the sun is beginning to set. We will head out with a packed breakfast at the start of the day, and return to our mobile camp for a quick and satisfying lunch and refreshments. But in case we have an unexpected encounter that requires us to stay put (think about observing a cheetah giving its prey chase, or a pack of hyenas face off with a lone lion over a fresh kill) we can ensure we don’t miss out, by having one of the cars fetch us a packed lunch, while we train our lenses on the action and wait it out!

  • DAY 5: 13 Feb 2018, Tuesday: Game drive in Ndutu; Check-Out; Overnight in Seronera

Being our last day at Ndutu, we head out early in the morning for a game drive scouting for predators and prey making best use of the morning light to click some beautiful pictures. We return to the camp for breakfast and thereafter Check-out and drive to Seronera through the Serengeti plains which will give additional time and opportunity for any interesting photographs we can make enroute. We would check-in in our new camp at Seronera after completing our evening Safari. There after followed by dinner.

  • DAY 6 and 7 : 14, 15 Feb 2018, Wednesday: Full day game drive; Overnight in Seronera

On this day we will embark on a exciting Full Day Game Drive. It is particularly exciting day because Seronera is famed for its leopard population and we have the opportunity to see leopards and lion prides basking in the sun, over Kopje or rocky outcroppings, a unique geographical feature in this part of the world. We return to our camp by evening and stay overnight at Seronera

  • DAY 8: 16 Feb 2018, Friday: May be a quick game drive and check out and fly back to Kilimanjaro
